Beer maker Budweiser has long enjoyed success with commercials featuring dogs, so it's no surprise that for its latest drinking and driving PSA, the company has once again turned to man's best friend. 

And oh man, did they ever nail it. 

Titled "Friends are Waiting," the video shows a young man named Luke and his puppy, Cooper, bonding, playing and growing older together. When Luke heads out one evening to go drinking with friends (and subsequently never comes home), the heartstrings are pulled hard. Thankfully, this one has a happy ending — but the message hits home: don't drink and drive. (And also, everyone should immediately hug their pets.)

"Friendship, camaraderie and enjoying great times are at the heart of Budweiser's most popular campaigns, and this video maintains that tradition but with an unexpected twist," Brian Perkins, VP-Budweiser told Ad-Age. "Budweiser is known for connecting with beer drinkers in memorable ways, and our efforts to promote responsible drinking through this video are no exception." 

Budweiser says it will air the 60-second PSA on network television in time with the brewer's fifth-annual "Global Be(er) Responsible Day" on Friday. Check out the ad, now approaching 10 million views on YouTube, below.
