When Emily Kraus and her boyfriend, Joe, stopped their car last Saturday to help a stranded bicyclist, they had no idea the man they were helping was actually the musician they were already late to watch perform.

"I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'Sh*t," Dave Matthews recalled that night at his show at Hersheypark Stadium. "And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig."

Kraus, a fan of The Dave Matthews Band since she was 9, was shocked to discover that she was giving a ride to her music idol.

"All the planets aligned last night - something greater then I'll ever be able to comprehend," she wrote on Facebook. "I've been listening to him since '95 - I was only 9 years one the first time I heard Lover Lay Down. First time I've ever seen it in concert was last night - wow wow wow!!!"

In an interview with CNN affiliate WHP, Kraus said she and her boyfriend talked with Matthews about how the summer tour was going and his daughter's summer camp schedules. Like others would respond in such a surreal situation she admitted, "We didn't know how to make conversation with him."

For their good gesture, the couple was rewarded with dinner backstage, front-row tickets, and a shout-out during the concert. Check out video of Matthews' thank you to Emily and Joe below.
