It seems like every other week some celebrity is saving the life of a normal Joe — with Dustin Hoffman the new hero du jour.

The 74-year-old actor, best known for films such as "Rain Man" and "The Graduate," was walking through London's central Hyde Park when he noticed jogger Sam Dempster collapse. According to The Sun, Hoffman immediately provided assistance to the young man and dialed emergency services. Medics arrived at the scene and used CPR and electric shocks to restart Dempster's heart.

As they carried the 27-year-old away, Hoffman reportedly told the crew "Great job, guys."

“I want to say ‘Thank you’ to Dustin Hoffman," Sam told the newspaper. "He saved my life.”

A couple weeks back, Patrick Dempsey pulled a teenage boy to safety after his car flipped over near the star’s home in Malibu, Calif. The actor, who plays a doctor on the hit series "Grey's Anatomy," even called the boy's mother to inform her of the situation.

“He had a certain authority in his voice,” Mary Beth Masset told ABC News. “I asked if he was a paramedic and he said no, ‘this is Patrick Dempsey.’”
