The worst kept secret in Hollywood realty circles has finally been made official: Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi are the new owners of Brad Pitt's former bachelor pad in Malibu.

The 48-year-old actor, who purchased the 4,000 square foot home after his breakup with Jennifer Aniston, listed the property earlier this year for $14.5M. Reports are that Ellen and Portia managed to scoop it up for just around $12M

The move is definitely a downsize for the couple; who recently placed their $49M, 15,000 square foot Beverly Hills dwelling on the market. Still, if you love ocean views, Pitt's place just can't be beat. It features private beach access, a pool, a tennis court, lush gardens, and two separate guest houses. Besides the extensive renovations, the actor also had a second story added by the environmentally conscious designer Christopher R. Sorensen.

All of that new cash can now go towards Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's rumored plans of buying up some private property in Costa Rica. The couple are reportedly spending the holidays there on a farm - with a future goal of living in the country more permanently.
