"Bones" actress Emily Deschanel is pregnant with her first child, a rep for the star confirmed to People magazine this week.

It's the first child for the 34-year-old and actor husband David Hornsby, who were married last September in L.A. "My big sister, Emily (aka Bones) Deschanel and her husby, David Hornsby, are going to have a baby! I am super excited to be an aunt," tweeted Zooey Deschanel on Thursday.

You can expect this kid will be raised with a love for animals. Last December, Emily was honored by the Humane Society of the United States with the prestigious Humane Advocate Award.

“Emily is a true champion of the animal protection cause, who walks the walk and talks the talk both personally and professionally,” said The HSUS’ Beverly Kaskey. “Not only is she willing to actively speak out about the issues, but she has helped spotlight them in various episodes of Bones, thereby delivering an animal protection message to a huge primetime audience.”

Congrats to Emily and David!
