Hayden Christensen, best known for his brooding portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in the "Star Wars" prequels, has teamed up with Montreal-based retailer RW&CO to create a new 20-piece men's clothing line.
The collection, which the 32-year-old actor says is inspired by the sprawling farm he owns in Uxbridge, Ont., consists of jackets, pants, knitwear and accessories.
“I’m excited to partner with a brand I feel such an authentic connection to and one that shares my detail-oriented design sensibility,” Christensen said, in a press release. “I’m looking forward to wearing my designs.”
As you'll see in the video below, shot on the farm owned by the star, Christensen has a deep connection to the land and enjoys wearing clothing that can work as well in a meeting as it can out in the fields.
“I recently acquired a farm north of Toronto,” Christensen said back in 2007, “and I just bought a big excavator and a dump truck and a bobcat – construction toys. I plan to start building soon. I can’t wait to go out there and move dirt and get my hands dirty. It’s currently a hay farm, but I want it to be a working farm. I want to fill the barn with livestock. First pigs, then cattle and horses.”
Christensen also had plans to harvest lavender as a main crop, but admitted early on that it was likely going to prove challenging.
"It doesn’t require much maintenance, but apparently it’s a bitch to harvest, because you have to cut it all by hand," he told Details.
The Hayden Christensen for RW&CO. line will be available at its stores across Canada and online starting Nov. 7. You can check out his promo video explaining his desire to start the collection below.
