Ian Somerhalder, best known for his turn as Damon Salvatore on the hit series "The Vampire Diaries," is trading immortality for action spy in this latest trailer for the film "Time Framed."

The movie, actually six short films, is a nod to the world of James Bond - but with a green twist decidedly more fun than the one we were expecting from "Quantum of Solace."

"Ian Somerhalder stars as Agent Black; a gun-for-hire secret operative," the synopsis reveals. "During his latest mission to stop the heist of a revolutionary clean energy device that brings free power to the world, he uncovers truths about control and corruption."

Not surprisingly, this project is yet another creative avenue Somerhalder is using to raise awareness of environmental issues. For years now, the 34-year-old has worked off-camera through his Ian Somerhalder Foundation on a variety of initiatives and campaigns. This one just happens to include a tux, gorgeous Tesla Model S, bad guys smoking cigars, and beautiful women.

"Time Framed" will be released later this year - with all proceeds benefiting Somerhalder's foundation.
