Back in January, it was announced that Amazon had beat out such traditional television networks as CBS and Fox in attaining the rights to a series based upon the hit 2009 horror comedy "Zombieland." Yesterday, the world got its first glimpse of this new entry into the popular undead drama - and, oh man, this one may earn a double-tap to the head quickly.

Just like the film, the film features four survivors traveling the country, outwitting zombies, and attempting to find a safe haven in a post-apocalyptic world. Despite having the same comedic elements, perhaps the biggest issue I have with the trailer is that it uses the same characters played to perfection by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Emma Stone in the movie. It just feels forced - and not very funny (although I did enjoy one scene involving a zombie and a bridge).

Amazon also released the series pilot online - but so far, no one can get it to work. Once it does rise from the grave, fans will have the opportunity to vote on whether "Zombieland" deserves a full season - or should quickly be reburied. Check out the trailer below.

Is Amazon's 'Zombieland' experiment already doomed?
Online giant releases a trailer for the new series based on the popular post-apocalyptic zombie film - and it looks rotten.
