Even while he was blowing out 38 candles on his birthday cake on Nov. 11, Leonardo DiCaprio was helping give back to those in need.
The actor, who stars in the upcoming Tarantino film "Django Unchained," celebrated another birthday by throwing a bash in Manhattan at The Darby Downstairs. Some of the celebs in attendance included pals Cameron Diaz, Martin Scorsese, Emma Watson, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Mark Ruffalo, Edward Norton, Jamie Foxx and Miranda Kerr.
The New York Daily News says his birthday dinner was a multi-course meal of branzino with truffled crust, yellowtail sashimi, spinach truffle pizza appetizer and steak filet with truffles.
While the evening's festivities, like previous birthday celebrations, raised money for charities supported by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, the actor went a bit further this year by adding a charity fee to every bottle sold at the supper club. The result? More than $500,000 was collected for the American Red Cross to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Before the evening's festivities, which according to sources lasted until 6:30 a.m., DiCaprio took time to team up with Diaz at a TAG Hauer event at the American Museum of Natural History for the New York Cares Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.
"I'm in town shooting my new film, 'The Wolf of Wall Street'," said the actor. "I'm very proud to be associated with a company that cares so much and gives so much back."
Back in 2010, DiCaprio teamed up with the luxury watchmaker to create the limited-edition Aquaracer 500M. Proceeds from sales benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Green Cross International.
