With yet another presidential election cycle soon to descend upon the masses, it's only fitting that the "tongue-in-cheek" candidates start coming out of the woodwork.

Yes, Donald Trump was the earlier perfect example of this, but now we also have Roseanne Barr, who announced her political intentions yesterday on "The Tonight Show."

“I am running for president of the United States,” Barr told Leno to raucous cheers from the audience.

"I'm totally serious," she said, with millions at home suddenly not sure whether she was still joking. "I want to be part of the debates, because I want to represent the taxpayer. In fact, I'm choosing the taxpayers as my vice president."

When Leno asked what party she might choose, Barr didn't hold back on expressing her feelings for Republicans and Democrats. “I’m not for either party because they both suck and they’re both a bunch of criminals.”

She continued, “So I made up my own party. It’s the Green Tea Party.”

Barr has of late been enjoying a career boost thanks to her new reality series on Lifetime called "Roseanne's Nuts." The show follows the actress and her family as they manage a 40-acre macadamia and livestock farm in Hawaii. Roseanne has called the place her "own slice of heaven."
