It's hard to believe it's been more than three years since the first "Sharknado" premiered on the SyFy channel and promptly devoured the network's rating records. It's even harder to believe we're still talking about a franchise with the singular plot foundation of tornadoes filled with man-eating sharks. But grab your chainsaws people, "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens" is officially coming your way on July 31.

SyFy let loose a full trailer for the latest incarnation of the horror-comedy this morning, setting off a slew of jokes about Tara Reid's shark-fueled career, the new hilarious plot line (featuring not only a sharknado, but also a firenado, oilnado, and cownado), and the long list of celebrity cameos. So far, it appears Carrot Top, Gilbert Gottfried, David Hasselhoff, Wayne Newton, the Chippendales Dancers and many othersare all doomed.

Back in 2014, Reid prophetically predicted that the "Sharknado" franchise would continue spinning for reasons even she could not comprehend.

"I'm just as stunned as everyone else," she said in an interview with HLN. "Come on, I did it as a joke! I didn't even think anyone was going to see it. And then what happened has never happened before on any movie. Even now, you thought the buzz was going to stop about 'Sharknado,' but it just keeps going."
