The wild success of "The Walking Dead" in both comics and on television has made a beverage tie-in seem like an inevitability. The only question is, what took them so long? After all, we live in a world where "Game of Thrones," "Breaking Bad," and "Star Trek" have official partnerships with breweries. And for those with a nose for the more refined, even "Downton Abbey" fans can seek out a bottle of British aristocracy-themed vino. Shouldn't zombies be represented somewhere in the mix?

Thankfully, Athens, Georgia-based brewery Terrapin Beer Company has come to the rescue, partnering with Skybound Entertainment (the group behind the comic books) to release an official Blood Orange India Pale Ale.

This unique beer, featuring an undead Terrapin turtle mascot on the cover, is made with blood orange peel and what's described as a "horrific amount of hops."

While Terrapin has yet to unveil when the new brew will be available, chances are good that it will be in our very-much-alive hands by the time Season 6 of AMC's "The Walking Dead" premieres on Oct. 11.
