While it may be a while before we see the famous character he played on "Entourage" hit the big screen, Adrian Grenier is content to make the most of his celebrity in the real world as a force for good. The 35-year-old is a constant presence in the environmental scene, having consistently supported organizations, initiatives and on-set greening efforts for several years.
Next week on Nov. 14, Grenier will be honored by Global Green USA at its 12th Annual Sustainable Design Awards in New York City. The actor will received the Sustainable Design Award, which according to a release, celebrates his commitment to positive change while inspiring and encouraging others.
To shed further light on what drives Grenier to help create a more sustainable future, Tom's of Maine will be hosting a live chat on its Facebook page as part of its Wicked Fresh! chat series. Fans will learn about everything from his musical passions (Grenier plays in a group called "The Honey Brothers") to why he founded SHFT, a green lifestyle site launched in 2009.
Late last month, Grenier launched a temporary pop-up shop in Los Angeles based on SHFT, showcasing ideas on how to live a more sustainable life.
"It's really where sustainability meets art and culture," he recently told The Huffington Post. "It's how we want to live. So it's got to look good, we have to want it. It has to speak to us. So we try to tell the stories of products that are sustainable and meet an artistic aesthetic as well."
The live Facebook chat will begin at 12 p.m. PST / 3 p.m. EST on Nov. 14. For more information, jump here.
