Oktoberfest 2014: Opening parade

Munich's famed 16-day beer bash opened its gates on Sept. 20 at the Theresienwiese fairgrounds, and it will be serving up its iconic Reinheitsgebot-approved beers to millions of lushy visitors until closing day on Oct. 5.

Of course, Oktoberfest is more than just the epic booze tents. This traditional Bavarian fair boasts a variety of family-friendly activities, including amusement park rides, game stalls, parades and food stands filled with roasted meats, sausages, pretzels, potato pancakes, dumplings and more.
