Cocoon ('Final Fantasy XIII')

First featured in the video game "Final Fantasy XIII," Cocoon is a self-contained paradise that hangs above the brutal and wild land of Gran Pulse (it's like the Australian Outback, just with lots of monsters that can eat you), Cocoon is a world run by powerful and enigmatic beings called the fal'Cie. Everything is provided by these entities: from sunlight to food and water and even keeping Cocoon afloat. Imagine it as a futuristic Garden of Eden (it even has a capitol with the same name) consisting of seaside resort towns, spectacular nature reserves and city-sized entertainment hubs. Besides Cocoon's theocratic government, cultural phobia of the land below and the fal'Cie plot to sacrifice humanity, it's paradise on Earth … err, above the Earth.
