'Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest'

Despite a negative review from the New York Times — which called it "an uncertain blend of sanctimonious principles and Saturday-morning cartoon aesthetics" — the animated fairies of "FernGully" teach viewers about conservation, not to mention the dangers of pollution and junk food. This 1992 film highlights the issue of endangered rain forests and includes a dash of comedy by Robin Williams and Cheech and Chong.
