Photographers Gavin Heffernan and Harun Mehmedinovic are well known for their riveting time-lapses, and in their latest video, "Pinnacles," they take us on an epic journey across the skies of the Southwest, hitting up Arizona's Monument Valley as well as California's Trona Pinnacles and Red Rock Canyon.

The time-lapse was produced in collaboration with BBC Earth as part of Heffernan and Mehmedinovic's SKYGLOW project, a photographic initiative organized to raise awareness about light pollution and its environmental effects.

What's extra cool about these clips is that after legendary rocker Mick Jagger took a liking to them, he decided to incorporate the visuals into the most recent Rolling Stones tour. Check out Heffernan's website to see images of the time-lapses featured on the concert stage.
