Not all the top beach bars are near the ocean. One is located in the heart of Berlin. Purists probably wouldn't consider the bar at Badeschiff a true beach bar because the only swim-able water is in the nearby pool. However, the beach-bar buzz on the banks of the Spree River is undeniable.
Though you can't swim in the river, you can take a dip in the pool. There's always a party atmosphere at Badeschiff's open-air bar. During the day,you can grab a cold drink and stake out one of the many chairs. At night, the pool is illuminated, and there are concerts, parties and film screenings. Because this is a family venue (and for obvious safety reasons), drinks purchased at the bar area are not allowed into the pool itself.
