Church Bar and Restaurant, Dublin
The Church Bar and Restaurant is a one of Dublin's most famous eateries and nightlife venues. The building was known as St. Mary's Church until 1964. After sitting unused for several decades, it was purchased and turned into a bar but some of the original features, such as the organ and stained glass windows, remain.
St. Mary's was associated with some of Dublin's most famous names. Arthur Guinness, founder of the world-famous Guinness Brewery, was married in the church in the 18th century and author Jonathan Swift regularly attended mass here.
