Tramway Gas Station

This former Enco gas station in Palm Springs, Calif., is located at the foot of Tramway Road and was intended to be the first Palm Springs building drivers saw when approaching the city from California State Route 111. Robson C. Chambers and Albert Frey designed this modernist building in 1965, and it was a functioning service station until the mid-1990s. The building briefly served as a private art gallery, but today it’s the Palm Springs Visitor Center.
