Myvatn, Iceland

Iceland's Blue Lagoon, located near the capitol city of Reykjavik, is an accessible hot springs spa that is one of its country's headlining attractions. However, the Myvatn Nature Baths, located in the more-remote northern part of this island nation, offer equally stunning landscapes and pools that are much less crowded than Reykjavik. Guests praise the quietness of the facilities here and enjoy soaking in the 100-degree water even during northern Iceland's frigid, dark winters. The austere landscapes and special features (volcanoes and aurora borealis, to name two) make Myvatn a complete tourist destination.
