Paradise never lasts. As soon as a place starts getting a reputation as an "untouched" destination, everyone flocks there.
A number of Thailand's islands have experienced this kind of tourism “discovery” in the past few decades. Take for example the formerly vacant island of Koh Phangan, which is now overrun by gap-year kids and tourists.
But there are plenty of secret beach spots left in Southeast Asia. Thailand and its neighbors are home to thousands of islands, and many are either uninhabited or home to only small fishing villages or military outposts. Here are just a few. (Text: Josh Lew)
