Flora, fauna, Florida

Welcome to the Sunshine State! Beautiful beaches, an incredible variety of wildlife, world-famous theme parks, several major metro areas, unique geography and tropical weather make this state special. This Southern state is mostly a huge peninsula, making it vulnerable to weather disasters but simultaneously encompassing about 2,000 miles of coastline (i.e. lots and lots of beaches). You're never far from water with its 11,000 miles of rivers, streams and waterways — or other people, as it is the fourth most-populated U.S. state. Small towner, big city dweller, animal lover, sports fan, aviator, beach bum, tourist, college student, meteorologist, historian, food connoisseur — you'll find your place in Florida.
