Brain injuries and post traumatic stress disorder can be devastating to members of the armed forces returning home after combat, but the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) helps these soldiers get back on their feet. Supporting 'our nation's greatest resource' since 2000, the fund has provided over $150 million in support for wounded military personnel, veterans and their families. This July, NAPA is joining the IFHF to build PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury research and treatment centers through the 'Get Back & Give Back' program.

NAPA customers can get a Visa rebate card by mail for up to $25 off every battery, alternator and starter they purchase throughout the month of July, and the company will also donate $1 to the IFHF for any redeemed rebate. Customers can choose to donate all or a portion of these rebates to the fund. You can also contribute by purchasing red, white and blue 'NAPA We Believe in Heroes' shirts, matching wristbands and lapel pins at, with all proceeds going to IFHF.

NAPA Auto Parts is one of the largest donors to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. In 2012, NAPA employees, stores, suppliers and customers raised $350,000, and that amount shot up to $1 million in 2013. All funds raised in 2014 will go directly toward IFHF's goal of raising $100 million for new National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICOoE) Satellite Centers focused on the diagnosis and treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

Lt. Pete Scobell, a former Navy Seal, is one example of how IFHF changes the lives of service members and their families. A combat-related brain injury caused memory lapses that made it difficult for Scobell to live a normal life and bond with his family. After receiving treatment in 2011 at a NICOoE center, Scobell now lives happily with his wife and three children in Colorado.

"My first meeting at the National Center of Excellence, they sat me down and I told my story and they said, Pete, you're broken, but we can fix you. Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is an organization that walks the talk. They don't just give you treatment, they give you hope, and that's more valuable than anything."
