Potato-less stamping

If you don't want to create a potato stamp, you can make a simple stencil by tracing your design on lightweight cardboard (for example, an old cereal box) and cutting out the shape, leaving a flat sheet of cardboard with an opening in your desired shape. Wash and wring out an old sponge and use to blot the paint through the opening in the stencil shape onto the brown paper.
