Back when I started my personal green blog in 2005, environmentalism wasn’t all that popular, and green news wasn’t a big niche. Now we’ve got more green blogs than I can count, pretty much every celebrity talking about their own environmental practices, and a whole lot of green events and expos.

In fact, we’ve got so many green expos that they’re now repeating themselves! Go Green Expo is returning to Los Angeles for its third consecutive year next month — and the lineup of keynote speakers includes Mariel Hemingway and Ed Begley, Jr. Guess who headlined Go Green Expo two years ago? That would be Mariel Hemingway and Ed Begley, Jr.!

There are other speakers, too, for those who’ve attended in past years and long to hear new voices. “Whale Wars” Captain Paul Watson and green architect Eric Corey Freed will be among them. Of course, Go Green Expo will showcase many eco-friendly products and services on its show floor, which organizers say will be bigger than ever with more than 250 booths. Attendees will also be able to enjoy a food-tasting pavilion, an eco-pet expo, a display of greener cars, an a concurrent eco-film festival.

All that happens on April 16-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. (A business-to-business expo on April. 15 will preceed the public expo.) A full weekend pass — with access to all speakers and films as well as the expo floor — costs $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. Children under 12 and active military personnel can attend free.

Go Green Expo to return and repeat
The big green event will showcase eco-friendly products and services, new green films -- and the same eco-celeb speakers featured at the 2009 show.
