As the cold months loom, weatherization is becoming an even more important topic to millions of Americans. With the shaky economy, some families need to do whatever they can to reduce their monthly heating bills. Weatherization is one way to reduce energy use and for families in need, and this process can be completed through the national Weatherization Assistance Program.

But what exactly does the weatherization process entail? It differs slightly for each house but it usually starts off with an energy audit and then appropriate upgrades are made. The end result is a more energy-efficient house, which leads to lower utility bills.
