Mexico

President Felipe Calderón has pushed climate change up on Mexico's policy agenda, announcing in June that the country would voluntarily cut 50 million tons of annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2012. He has also indicated that Mexico will bring plans for emissions cuts through 2020 to the bargaining table in Copenhagen this December.
