Stretch your travel budget

No vacation is completely free. Anything more substantial than an afternoon bike ride is going to cost something. But it is possible to plan a trip that allows you to keep most of your money by focusing on attractions and activities that don't cost anything. 

Of course, there's more to it than simply seeking a city that has a lot of free attractions. The last thing you want to do is limit yourself to second-rate travel experiences just to save a few bucks. The best “free” cities have a full menu of quality attractions without admission fees.
