What's better than burning trash to generate electricity? How about pulling electricity from the wind and the sun? Last year, SkyBuilt Power of Arlington, Va., was awarded a contract with the U.S. Army to provide rapidly deployable renewable energy power stations for service in Afghanistan. SkyBuilt’s SkyStation system combines wind turbines, solar panels, biomass and biofuels with a large bank of batteries to store and draw electricity from, while smaller modules are suited to powering communications equipment and treating water.
