As I noted last year in a round-up of eco-friendly calendars for '11, the art of planning has pretty much gone with way of "i". But still, gizmos and gadgets and electronic organizers be damned, there's nothing quite like a beautifully designed calendar hung in a kitchen or placed on a desk or entryway table.
Below are 12 calendars of all shapes, sizes, and styles to help you keep on top of things in the new year. They also make for a great holiday gift/stocking stuffer for that constantly harried and disorganized person in your life (not an entirely undermining gift option). Most of my picks are handmade with eco-friendly materials like recycled paper stock and nontoxic inks, one serves double duty as a tea towel, and a couple of perpetual options will last you year after year. And as you can see, there's something for everyone: Home gardeners, locavores, dog lovers, unicorn worshippers, DIYers, and more (sorry folks, no cats in designer clothing or Betty White this year).
