Exactly a year ago today, in celebration of both Solar Energy Month and Energy Awareness Month, I recommend a handful of nifty solar-powered home accessories that I’d featured on this here blog during 2009. Well, now that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made Solar Energy Month truly official (at least in California), I thought it wouldn't hurt to take a look back at the best and the brightest solar-powered home accessories that I've featured over this past year (October 2009 until now).

Snagging a couple of these solar-powered goodies — they range from the practical (flashlights) to the weird (Queen of England statuettes) — is a great way for those who aren't ready to make the leap into installing photovoltaic panels at home to celebrate the sun this October. Do you have a solar-powered home gizmo or gadget that you can't live without? Tell me about it in the comments section.
