Annoyance factor: 8

Favorite hangouts: Seemingly everywhere but primarily tall grasses, standing water and "swampy areas."

Most annoying when: You're trying to take a peaceful, extended nap in a backyard hammock.

Annoying, associated diseases and afflictions: Malaria, yellow fever, dengue fever, West nile virus and more.

Repulsive eating habits: Before feasting on a scrumptious "blood meal" provided an unsuspecting host, female mosquitoes inject saliva into the source. The 'squito spit acts as an anticoagulant. Without it, the lady mosquito's sucking snot would become filled with blood clots.
