By now, everyone knows Michelle Obama’s commitment to getting healthy, local fruits and vegetables into our communities and to our children. She paid a visit to Sesame Street to plant a garden with Elmo, Big Bird and some of the kids on the street.

The new season of Sesame Street starts on Nov. 10, and kids will get to see the first lady teach them how to plant a vegetable garden so they have food that will help them grow up big and strong.

This isn’t Michelle Obama’s first trip to Sesame Street. She’s already spent some time with Elmo and the gang teaching kids about healthy habits.

Robin Shreeves ( @rshreeves ) focuses on food from a family perspective from her home base in New Jersey.
