Yesterday, MNN’s Pop Culture blogger Michael told us about Prince Charles’ would be in Washington, D.C. where he’d be giving the keynote address at Georgetown University’s The Future of Food conference.

He did give the speech, and the entire text of his keynote speech is online on the UK’s government website. He talks about his own sustainable farming (does he actually put on Wellies and go out into the field himself?) and his belief that the need for a “Washington Consensus” is important for the future of food.

You can see a few sound bites from the speech in this video below.

You can see a longer clip, about four minutes long on The Washington Post’s website as well as clips from some of the conference’s other speakers including Eric Schlosser, author of “Fast Food Nation” and poet Wendell Berry.

Robin Shreeves ( @rshreeves ) focuses on food from a family perspective from her home base in New Jersey.
