Crape myrtle

Growing in hardiness zones 6 to 9, the crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia 'Natchez') has a dark cinnamon-brown bark that exfoliates with age. This tree loves full sun in average, medium-moisture soils. It sports a dark green foliage and resists mildew.
