Japanese stewartia

A small and slow-growing tree, Japanese stewartia (Stewartia pseudocamellia) can grow up to 40 feet in rich, well-drained soils. The tree's red, orange and brown bark can create an interesting contrast with any landscape. It does well in hardiness zones 5 to 8 in moist but well-drained soils.
